A Newborn, Two Little Buddies and a Loving Family

I have had the pleasure of working with this family for the past 2 years! Little "C" was only 7 months old when I met him. Now he has a new baby brother, little "E"! I was invited to come and play while they had their adorable little cousin, aunt and uncle from California and their Grandparents from North Carolina visiting. I always have such a delightful time when I am with them.

I love the shots we were able to capture of baby "E" in their beautiful home. The photos of him on their dining table are beautiful! I also love the shots of him interacting with his mother and father. Those moments are so tender! He was awake through most of his photo "opps" and he has the most incredible big dark eyes!

The two little cousins were so much fun! The little miss looks so adorable in all of her outfits. I brought a few along with me and she loves ladybugs, so, of course, we had to use the ladybug hat! Her photos make me giggle. We also brought out the leopard coat and white petticoat, both which drowned her but boy, does she look scrumptious! There is one photo of her with her lower lip out that will be trouble for her daddy. She will have him wrapped around her little finger, I guarantee it!

Little "C" is definitely one of my favorite little buddies! His eyes have captivated me since he was 7 months old! He is so easy going and full of life! I brought along one of my hats, shirt and ties for him and we all giggled uncontrollably when he put them on. He is such a handsome little man! I love the shots of him in the grass with his legs out in front. That face is sure to be a lady killer!

I stayed way too long and took way too many pictures, but I think you will agree that it would have been impossible to stop taking photos with such wonderful subject matter!

Here is the "G" family! I love spending time with you guys!

A Cat, A Motorcycle, and Ho Ho Ho!

I have had the distinct pleasure of being able to photograph this darling boy since he was two! He is now four and so grown up! Whenever I am around him, my heart just melts and I want to pick him up, put him in my pocket and take him home with me! His parents are delightful and I was so excited to go to their new home for this photo experience.

We started in his living room with his cat. It is obvious how much he loves it. He is so full of life and giggles. I was singing my silly songs some of you know so well, and instead of correcting me, he actually joined in which cracked me up! We, essentially, spent the entire time giggling! We went up into his bedroom and got some fabulous shots with the window light. It cast such dramatic shadows. He loves his bright red bed and the shot of him jumping off of it with his hands covering his eyes is just too wonderful! He had the ABC book I did for him when he was two and I had him sit down on the floor and read it with Mom and Dad. I loved that floppy red hat!

We then went downstairs and his dad brought out this incredible airplane he was restoring. It was almost as big as little "C" was! It was then time to head outside with his motorcycle jacket. Right before we went out, I grabbed a few shots of him leaning against the stairway railing. His expression and the way he is standing make him look about 10 years older! When my camera captures the hint of who my little ones are going to be, I think it must be magic! When we got outside, he put on his helmet which was way too big and got on his own "motorcycle". Then dad brought out the big red one. I love the shots of the two of them on that big beast!

Afterwards, we went into Mom's and Dad's bedroom and little "C" put on his "Ho Ho Ho' pajamas. They read together and had a big pillow fight!

I loved every minute spent with "C" and his wonderful parents! I dare any of you to watch his slideshow without giggling. It just can't be done!

Halligator!

For those of you who have been following my blog for the past few years, you will remember a delightful girl nicknamed "Figlette". Well, guess who has a new little sister?! I was able to play with the family back in July and was able to capture some incredible images of Figlette. Her mommy let me know about the new little addition soon to be coming to their family then. I anxiously awaited her arrival and was so tickled to have her come and play this fall. Her mother shared her adoption story with me and I was honored to be able to take her photo. This was such a tender day for me. She was actually born in the same village as her older sister.

As usual, Mom brought wonderful outfits. She always chooses bright and colorful outfits which are coordinated and completely adorable. We started with her little red outfit and her patchwork elephant. I know he is from a storybook, but I'm not sure which one. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to read my kids storybooks for a few years. I sure miss it. She wore the same rainbow leggings her sister did in her first photo experience with me and looked wonderful on my green couch!

Her mommy brought a white rocking horse she had as a child and put little Halligator in the sweetest black, white and red sun dress! It took a few minutes of pushing, but we got those chubby little feet into her to-die-for red boots as well! She looks like an angel in these photos. I love the ones of her and her mommy. You can see the love and care she has for her new little girl. We had a quiet beautiful time together. I will remember it always.

I am so excited to introduce you to little Halligator! I can't wait to get the two sisters together sometime this summer!

What I've Been Up To

Those of you who are anxiously waiting for your photos to be finished are probably wondering what in the world I've been up to. I haven't been posting here very much. I have actually been posting like crazy on my high school senior blog. I had to put my seniors on the back burner when I was rushing to get everyone's Christmas photos done, so I am now back working on those and doing everyone's photos in the order they were taken. I am now up to October 11th. I am so sorry I am behind, but I just couldn't say no to anyone this year. I still have high hopes that I will have everything finished by the end of this month, though!

I thought I would share a few photos of Light & Shadow's first Bridal Fair which was held at the Clark County Fair Grounds the first weekend in January. I had a wonderful time meeting newly engaged couples and have booked a few weddings already for this summer! I will be launching a new wedding website soon! I'm looking forward to stepping back into weddings again. I've missed the romance and the celebration!
