An Announcement!

I am pleased to announce the return of Lisa Cornell to Light & Shadow Photography!  I have been missing in action, clumsily limping along with a few photo shoots, but have been sadly neglecting my business.  I was actually going along the route of corporate life, getting a Master’s Degree, with big plans to become a Campus President.  However, try as I may, my heart was aching for my love and passion of photography.
A few weeks ago, I made a momentous decision.  I am backing away from pursuing a master’s degree and will become Light & Shadow Photography again.  I am busily decorating a new studio in NW Portland in time for Christmas photos.  I hope to have a grand opening on Saturday, November 19th.  It is in a delightful neighborhood and I feel so at home there!  This has always been a dream of mine and I am now allowing myself to live it.  Here are some photos of my new neighborhood.  The minute I drove up to the curb, I knew this would be my home.

My new address is: 2368 NW Thurman St., Portland OR 97210

This crow was handmade by a previous owner of my space.  I think the name of his metalwork artist studio was "Black Crow Designs".  How cool is that?!  There are incredible metalwork creations all through my space, especially in my private courtyard. I will be showcasing his work shortly!

Here is my new landlord, Brent Douglas.  I love him, already!  He is the nicest man with such positive energy.  He was waiting for just the right tenant who would fit in with the neighborhood.  He had turned down some trendy coffee shops and other retail space.  When he met me, he said he thought my studio would be a perfect addition to the neighborhood!

This is Steven, who goes by "Story".  He is Brent's carpenter and general "go to" guy.  He was busy making my front windows open-able!  I can't wait to feel the cross breeze through these gorgeous north-facing windows!

Here is my downstairs neighbor, Big Dan's West Coast Bento.  He cooks everything on a barbecue outside!  People come from all over Portland to eat his delicious food!

Kenny & Zukes is right next door.  I've already had their Reuben Sliders and Turkey Sandwich (with thinly sliced apples right on the sandwich)  Delicious!

This is a resale children's clothing shop.  I met the owner, Dave, and he is delightful!  He has a three year-old daughter who I plan to shoot regularly!

There is a Co-Op Grocery Store right across the street.

There is a mailbox "graveyard" right next door.  I can't believe how many "skeletons" are laying around!

Here is my black front door!  Be prepared to be shot in front of it!
This week, I have refinished the floor, painted the bathroom, door moldings and will be finishing painting the portrait space.  I hope to have photos up on the wall and furniture this next week.  My grand opening deadline is coming up, and I am excited, thrilled and terrified!

Thanks for your publication. One other thing is that individual American states have their unique laws which affect house owners, which makes it extremely tough for the our elected representatives to come up with a fresh set of guidelines concerning property foreclosure on house owners. The problem is that a state provides own laws which may have interaction in an unfavorable manner in terms of foreclosure policies.
